ISN'T THAT CHARLES WHITE?

If director John DeBello ever quits his day job, he can land a gig as a generic TV news reporter. Alter ego “Charles White” debuted in Return of the Killer Tomatoes®, grilling the unfortunate Mrs. Williams (D.J. Sullivan) over the demise of her late husband. Mrs. Williams had received similar abuse from reporter Jim Hess in Attack, and was later subjected to more abuse from bank teller Kevin West in Killer Tomatoes® Strike Back. So it wasn’t personal. Charles White would go on to win featured roles in a host of films…all directed by John DeBello. “Ron Howard always cast his bother Clint in his movies,” notes DeBello. “Not having a brother named Clint, I cast myself.” It should be noted that DeBello has two brothers, neither named Clint, while producer J. Stephen Peace has a son named Clint but has never even met Ron Howard. However, Killer Tomato® Originator Costa Dillon did meet Ron Howard, at Carlsbad Caverns some years ago. After watching Return, or not watching Return, Quentin Tarantino then cast himself in “Pulp Fiction.”

Sort of makes you think, doesn’t it?
